• 2022 Event Recap

  • Southern Oregon Trucking Industry Mixer

January 27, 2022/Seven Feathers Resort Casino - Canyonville, OR

With pandemic restraints finally lifting, OTA members and non-members in the southern part of the state were able to gather once again for the popular Southern Oregon Trucking Industry Mixer. In addition to food, fun and conversation, this year's event also featured a chat with Oregon gubernatorial candidate Betsy Johnson. The group gathered to hear about her vision for Oregon and ask questions about what her plans are if elected in November.

  • 2022 Spring Safety Conference

    April 27 - 29, 2022/Salem Convention Center

OTA's Safety Management Council (SMC) was able to bring their annual conference back to its regular schedule. Industry safety professionals gathered to listen and learn from expert speakers and representatives from ODOT, OSHA and others. Given the broad scope of safety in the trucking industry, topics covered both the issues unique to the trucking industry and HR-related topics such as employee health & well-being. The Spring Safety Conference was also the perfect occasion to recognize some of the top safety professionals & teams. While the Safety Grand Champion and Safety Professional of the Year will be announced at OTA's Annual Convention & Exhibition in Bend this August, others received their awards during the event. • 2022 Oregon Truck Driving Championships

June 11, 2022/Lane Events Center - Eugene, OR

OTA & SMC welcomed drivers back to the Oregon Truck Driving Championships on June 11, 2022 in Eugene, OR. The event was canceled in 2020 & 2021 due to the pandemic. Drivers and spectators braved the "atmospheric river" that hit Eugene just in time for the competition to begin, but the rain didn't dampen the fun & festivities. OTA would like to thank everyone who helped bring back the Oregon TDC and congratulate all of our winners!

  • 2022 Bob Russell TruckPAC Golf Tournament

July 19, 2022/Langdon Farms Golf Club, Aurora, OR

With a sold out crowd of golfers, the 2022 Bob Russell TruckPAC golf tournament had one of the best turnouts ever for this event. Golfers got an early start on what would be a hot July day, while hole sponsors enjoyed the shade their tents provided. With a larger field of players, it took a bit longer to wrap things up and for lunch to begin. While scores were tallied, golfers enjoyed a BBQ lunch, a drawing for the raffle prizes and a quick update on OTA's advocacy efforts. Thanks to all of our golfers and sponsors whose participation helps to fund the fight that OTA undertakes on behalf of Oregon's trucking industry.

Attendees received applicable information that will help them determine their own next steps, as well as how the industry could and should respond to the issues and impacts. Many OTA allied members participated in the trade-show style exhibition, sharing the latest products and services that support trucking.

  • Meals for Drivers - National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

    September 11 - 17, 2022

To celebrate drivers in Oregon and around the country, OTA hosted three Meals for Drivers events during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. We handed out hundreds of boxed lunches as drivers traveled through ODOT points-of-entry at Cascade Locks, Ashland and Woodburn. While we weren't able to feed all 3.6 million drivers who serve our communities and keep our store shelves stocked, those we interacted with appreciated our appreciation for the work that they do.

We were able to offer even more lunches, thanks to the generous support of the companies below. We'd also like to thank ODOT and the volunteers who assisted at each event.
