The Oregon Truck Driving Championships (ORTDC) showcases the skills and knowledge of Oregon's truck drivers. OTA's Safety Management Council hosts the annual event that puts the focus on the industry's dedication to keep all drivers safe on the road.

ORTDC is also the opportunity for the public to see exactly what's involved in operating heavy-duty vehicles. Friends, family, colleagues and others are invited to help OTA celebrate trucking and all of its essential workers. This event is free and open to the public!

The Road to NTDC 2023

The winner of each equipment class will be eligible to represent the Oregon at the National Truck Driving Championships in Columbus, Ohio.

This competition has a long history – dating back to 1937 when it was known as the National Truck Rodeo. The NTDC competitors are made up of the winners in eight classes of competition from 50 State Trucking Associations’ Truck Driving Championships. During the TDC and NTDC competition, each driver has a chance to demonstrate his or her driving and inspection skills, knowledge and professionalism through a series of tests. The drivers undergo a written examination, pre-trip inspection test and finally, the most visible - the skills test. These annual competitions inspire tens of thousands of drivers to operate accident-free for the right to compete.
